During the Holiday season, it is important to turn our thoughts to those who fill our hearts with so much happiness. As Thanksgiving is a time to enjoy delicious food, time away from the office and holiday themed festivities, we ask that you take a moment to realize who you are able to celebrate this special day with. If you are fortunate enough to have your parents or grandparents gathered around your table this year, remember to let them know how grateful you are for their presence. Our senior citizens play an instrumental role in our lives, and for some of us, it may be too late to let them know how much they truly mean.
Our senior citizens give us so much to be thankful for, such as their vast knowledge and the many contributions they’ve made to society, big or small. Sometimes it’s easy to forget the enriching opportunities they experienced before we came into the world. We don’t always remember that they were once our age, have gone through several stages of life or have struggled in ways we have. It’s also easy to forget that we will one day be in their shoes as well. It’s no doubt that the senior citizens in our lives have taught us important lessons, have shared stories we’ll never forget, have offered the best advice and have become our biggest cheerleaders in life. While we have so much love for them, we are eternally grateful for the unconditional love they give in return. As time goes on, we need to remember to thank the ones at the root of our family tree and let them know we wouldn’t be who we are today without them.
Whether you are close with the senior citizens in your life or not, please extend your appreciation to the ones who have paved the way for the life we are blessed to have. To all of our senior citizens, we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving and send our warmest wishes for a holiday filled with everything that brings you joy. Most importantly, it is in this spirit that we say simply, but sincerely, thank you.
