Throughout the month of August, our rehabilitation facilities have taken part in a fun, innovative program called the “Functional Friday Challenge.” Lisa Beck, Clinical Director for AdvantageCare Rehabilitation and co-creator of the exciting, new challenge said, “We are always encouraging our therapists to ‘think outside the box’ and provide functionally based activities to meet patient goals. When onsite at a building in western PA, I heard about a Director of Rehabilitation who challenged her staff to do functional activities on Fridays and she called it ‘Functional Fridays.’ I asked her if I could expand that challenge to all of our buildings and she agreed.
I challenged the teams for the month of August to celebrate ‘Functional Fridays’ and share with me the activities they completed with pictures. The following members of the management team were asked to review all the entries and vote for one team: Dave Lishinsky- VP of Clinical Compliance; Colleen Balsano- VP of Operations; Jessica Monocello- Clinical Data Analyst, Mitzi Kweder- Director of Quality & Standards; Courtney Bryant- Regional Director of Operations.”
