Effective business leaders recognize employee morale as a fundamental aspect of success. Without it, industry leaders put their company in jeopardy of lower productivity rates, tense work environments, higher absenteeism, reduced collaboration, lower employee satisfaction rates, and ultimately, higher turnover. If anything is certain, it’s that employees are the foundation of the organization and their happiness is vital.
At Advantage, morale isn’t just something we highlight in our corporate values, it is a goal we seek day in and day out. As an example, with each new hire, we welcome that new employee into our “Advantage Family.” We cultivate an environment where each member of our team feels valued and appreciated, not just occasionally, but on a daily basis. Now, we’re sharing with all of you some of the strategies we’ve implemented for motivating and acknowledging our employees:
Clinicians of the Week
Every week, we highlight our home health clinicians that go above and beyond to always put our patients first. Just as our patients appreciate their hard work and dedication, we, too, show our gratitude to them by sharing the positive feedback we’ve received from our patient satisfaction surveys.
Super Stars of the Month
Every month, Advantage receives nominations for team members that others feel deserve recognition for exceeding job expectations and for setting a great example for others. The Super Stars of the Month receive a gift card, 2 hours of paid time off, recognition on our electronic billboard, and entry into the running for the Chairman’s Star of the Year Award.
Chairman’s Star of the Year
Each year at our annual corporate Christmas party, Amy Hancock, CEO, and Bill Henry, CFO, acknowledge and present the Chairman’s Star of the Year Award to three Home Health team members and three Rehabilitation team members. In addition to the award, The Chairman’s Star of the Year receives free travel and hotel accommodations for our Christmas party.
Social Media
Content that frequently fills our social media pages consists of photos of our employees. Whether they are attending a conference, a job fair or a trade show, running in a marathon, celebrating health awareness days, birthdays, or national holidays, spending well-deserved time with family on vacation, or even showing off a new Advantage promo item, we like to put the spotlight on our shining employees.
